A family-run milling company for over 128 years, Hemelter Mühle is managed by Jan Cordesmeyer in the fourth generation.

HISTORY
Around 1500
1892
Heinrich Cordesmeyer buys the Hemelter Mühle in Rheine for his son Franz Cordesmeyer. The Hemelter Mühle is owned and operated by a miller family for the first time.
1943
Franz Cordesmeyer hands over the Hemelter Mühle to his son Dr Hubert Cordesmeyer.
1985
Dr Hubert Cordesmeyer hands over the Hemelter Mühle to his son Dr Franz Cordesmeyer. The company continues to grow.
1996
Hemelter Mühle takes over the Gdańsk mills and warehouses in Poland.
2002
A new, modern production plant opens in the port of Spelle-Venhaus.
2006
A majority holding in the Lower Silesian mill works near Wroclaw increases involvement in Poland.
2013
The Spelle plant expands with a 2nd production line with large grain and flour silos. Jan Cordesmeyer becomes managing director in the 4th generation.
2016
The railway line to the mill in Spelle opens.
